AI Content Creation

The rise of AI content in the creative world has been fast, messy, and depending on who you ask, either the best thing ever or slightly terrifying. But love it or loathe it, one thing’s for sure: AI’s no longer a futuristic idea. It’s right here, baked into everything from scriptwriting and voiceovers to postproduction and video editing.

At DAKONA, we’ve decided to lean into the shift, with ethics and morality at the forefront. We don’t see AI as a threat to creativity – we see it as a set of smart tools that, when used with intention, can seriously boost the pace, quality, and ambition of what we make. Whether it’s generating content, testing voice clones, or automating fiddly postproduction tasks, we treat AI content like a creative partner, not a gimmick. It helps us do more with less, speeding things up and keeping the work sharp, without losing the human touch.

What AI Actually Means in Video Production

We’re not handing the reins to a machine. We’re using artificial intelligence the way any good production company uses kit: to make ideas happen faster, cheaper, and with fewer bottlenecks.

It’s not one giant robot running the show, it’s lots of smaller, specialist tools built into our workflow at different points. Each one does a very specific job, and we know how to use them well (and when not to). That means guiding clients to make smarter, faster decisions, and helping them get more bang for their budget.

What AI Content tools are there?

As AI content is constantly evolving as large technology companies make huge investments in AI infrastructure, there are new tools coming out every day. It’s difficult to keep up-to-date on the new thing, but there are a few tried-and-tested tools that help us on a typical production.

  • Boords – We use Boords to plan and pre-visualise video content quickly, collaboratively, and without the tedium of traditional storyboard tools. Using their AI content tools help turn a simple visual into something more complex and helpful for clients to understand.
  • MidjourneyMidjourney is our go-to image generation tool. Where we need to refine our conceptual ideas or help visualise a treatment or storyboard, this is our go to.
  • Runway – If we’ve generated images and need it animated for any particular reason, Runway does just that. We’ve had clients such as Ajdan that needed to convert their concept art into moving image, and this was the tool for that.
  • SynthesiaSynthesia lets us generate realistic voiceovers using AI voices in dozens of accents and tones. It’s perfect for producing fast, multi-lingual VO content. If we know a real voiceover artist is coming later, AI lets us build the video around a temporary read. We get a better sense of flow, timing, and where visuals need to breathe without committing to a final recording too early.
  • Adobe – Built into Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop, Adobe’s AI tools help us remove objects with generative fill, clean up bad audio with AI denoisers, auto-reframe for social, and speed up tasks like masking, scene detection, and tracking.

Know When AI Isn’t the Answer

Every project needs a human. There are moments where tone, nuance, and emotion matter too much to leave to an algorithm. AI can’t read the room. It doesn’t know your brand like you do.

Without careful oversight when using AI, it can often go completely rogue on you. Scripts can completely sound flat or uninspired, or even completely off-message. Without strict oversight from a “pilot”, or even with, it’s not always the answer. You can’t beat the power of human interaction – real writers, editors, or directors who understand the project, and how to achieve the best results.

We don’t use AI content just because it’s there. We use it when it adds value – when it makes the work better, cleaner, faster. And knowing when to stop is just as important as knowing when to start.

Let’s Talk AI For Your Brand

We’ve already built workflows for brands, agencies, and internal teams who want to embrace the benefits of AI, but don’t have the time to figure it all out themselves.

If you’re dealing with content bottlenecks, want to create more without extra huge expenses, or just want to explore what’s actually possible with AI content in production, we’d love to show you.

Let’s Talk.
