Whitbread

One City, Two Lives

Prime location for blistering transport links across London.

London never stops. And neither did we!

For this project with Whitbread PLC, we took a different approach. The goal: showcase Premier Inn and hub by Premier Inn Paddington Station’s unbeatable location in a way that truly reflects the energy of London. A static, controlled shoot wouldn’t cut it. We needed movement, pace, and a setup agile enough to capture the city as it really is — fast, dynamic, unpredictable.

Filming across key tourist and transport hotspots, we opted for a run-and-gun setup, minimising gear to stay mobile and blend into the environment. This allowed us to capture real moments of city life without drawing unnecessary attention. A talented local actress brought the narrative to life, striking the perfect balance between business and casual, embodying the versatility of the hotel’s offering.

Timing was tight. Every shot had to count. Moving between locations quickly was one of our biggest challenges, with a packed schedule that required us to be confident in the shots we needed before even setting up. Every decision had to be intentional, ensuring efficiency without compromising quality.

To match the relentless rhythm of London, we employed a multi-cam setup, embracing movement and camera shake to heighten the sense of urgency and connectivity. We chose the Sony FX series — an FX6 and FX3 — with Sony autofocus lenses to ensure sharp focus even in the fast-paced nature of the shoot. The handheld, shaky style emphasised the erratic nature of the city, mirroring the constant motion of life in London. Natural light was our primary tool, giving the film a grounded, authentic feel. Inside the hotel, subtle lighting adjustments created the impression of morning and evening transitions, reinforcing the idea that this location fits any schedule, any traveller, any purpose.

Beyond logistics, we focused on storytelling. The narrative needed to resonate with Whitbread’s audience—property suppliers, potential development partners, and industry professionals looking for proof of Premier Inn’s adaptability in London’s fast-paced market. We wanted to go beyond showcasing amenities; we aimed to illustrate the hotel’s strategic placement as an integral hub for business and leisure travellers alike.

Post-production was where the story came together. We cut between sweeping shots of Paddington’s bustling streets, the seamless connectivity of the Crossrail network, and intimate moments inside the hotel—painting a vivid picture of what staying at Premier Inn Paddington Station really feels like. The edit was designed for engagement, with sharp pacing, dynamic cuts, and a soundtrack that complements the energy of the city.

The result? A video that doesn’t just tell you Premier Inn Paddington is well-connected—it makes you feel it. The energy, the accessibility, the sheer convenience of stepping out of your hotel and straight onto a Crossrail platform just minutes from Heathrow, the West End, and the City. It’s a game-changer, and we wanted every frame to reflect that.

Designed for LinkedIn, this piece cuts through the noise, offering a fresh perspective on Whitbread’s London expansion. More than just another hotel video, it’s a visual statement on how Premier Inn and hub by Premier Inn are shaping the capital’s hospitality landscape.
