Drone flying on a set

At DAKONA, we’re thrilled to announce a General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC) and Operational Authorisation (OA) renewal for drone operations. This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation and regulatory compliance in the ever-evolving world of drone and video production.

A Journey from PfCO to OA

Since 2018, DAKONA has been a proud holder of the Permission for Commercial Operations (PfCO). It’s been a fantastic journey, filled with learning and growth. However, as the industry landscape evolves, so do the regulations. We believe in embracing change and ensuring that we are always aligned with the latest industry standards. This commitment led us to pursue a GVC, a testament to our dedication to maintaining the highest levels of proficiency and safety.

Staying Ahead of Regulations

Change is the only constant, especially in a field as dynamic as drone operations. With the introduction of new regulations, our team at DAKONA saw an opportunity to not only comply but excel. We delved into understanding the nuances of these changes, ensuring our operations remained not just compliant, but exemplary.

Our journey towards acquiring the GVC wasn’t just about meeting standards; it was about exceeding them. Our team’s hard work and dedication paid off as we successfully navigated the complexities of the new regulations. This accomplishment isn’t just a feather in our cap; it’s a reassurance to our clients that we are equipped to handle the future of aerial videography with expertise and finesse.

Operational Authorisation from the CAA:

Renewing our Operational Authorisation (OA) from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is a moment of pride for us at DAKONA. We’ve held it since 2022, and before that, a PfCO to demonstrate our confidence and ability to complete complex aerial flights for our clients. This authorisation is more than just a regulatory nod; it’s a recognition of our capabilities and our commitment to maintaining the highest standards in every aspect of our operations.

Traditional drone operators are bound by stringent distance limitations, but with an OA, we at DAKONA can legally fly our drones much closer to subjects and structures. This capability opens up a new realm of creative possibilities, allowing us to capture more intimate, detailed, and dynamic shots. It’s a game-changer in how we tell stories through our lenses.

Looking Ahead

At DAKONA, this achievement isn’t just about staying compliant; it’s about leading the charge.  As we move forward, our commitment to excellence, safety, and innovation remains unwavering. The GVC is not just a certificate; it’s a promise – a promise of delivering the best, the safest, and the most breath-taking visual content.

To our clients, partners, and the entire DAKONA family, this is a moment of celebration and a step towards a future rich with possibilities. Together, let’s reach new heights and capture the world like never before.
